Which tire size for 9J and 10J rims (Veemann VC359) on pre-LCI?
Hey!
I have a 2005 pre-LCI 330i with Veemann VC359 rims. I’m currently running 225/35R19 on the front and 255/30R19 on the rear, however the rim sticks out quite far. I’m looking for some new tires and want to change the tire size so the rim is actually protected by the tire. I’m torn between 235 or 245 in the front and 265 or 275 in the rear. Does anyone have any advice or pictures they can share of their own setups (359, or any other 9J/10J rims)? Thank you! |

Those are large wheels, and you are running the OEM spec tyres, which on those wheels are narrow and low-profile.
https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/tyres-a...ls-equivalence 235/35 and 265/30 might work. |

It's 9J ET35 in the front and 10J ET38 in the rear. Last edited by danielvd; 04-24-2024 at 02:27 PM.. Reason: Properly quoted the messages I'm replying to this time |

no tire is gonna protect the rim, with 19 your limited on sizes/pricey and cant go too wide as it will be also taller and cause issues rubbing. imo downsize to 18 or get better width/offset 19
235/265 , 245/275, 255/295 is how sizes correlate |

What’s wrong with my width and offset? And yes, I am debating between 235/265 and 245/275. Don’t know which one to pick.

If you go wide enough to "project the rim," you will likely be rubbing. |

You might need to consider the tyre choice as well. Some have larger rim protection than others. For instance, Goodyear tyres generally offer more rim protection other brands I have had fitted. It might make sense to be conservative initially and go for 235/265 even though they will still be on the narrower side for your wheels.
This is also a good resource and might help: https://apexwheels.com/fitment-guide...-fitment-guide |
