Honestly wouldn't know haven't gotten past 50hours of listening. Haven't driven my car in weeks.

"The B1 will sound great out of the box and will get better over time. However, give it 40-50 hours break in time before doing any critical listening"

BUMP

Didn't know many people using different types of Bluetooth streamers.

Please state what phone you are using as well.

As for iOS there is no APTx support so relying on a great built in DAC or external DAC would be beneficial

I use a Tune2Air WMA3000B w/ my iPhone 6s in a 2009 335i with 6FL.

It allows streaming of course and use of the steering wheel control and integrates into the radio display.

You can use the steering wheel, radio controls or phone to change playlists / tracks etc. It also works with streaming apps like Spotify, Pandora, etc. and the steering wheel controls are app dependant (i.e. changes stations / playlists instead, etc.)

Yes. I looked into that option but many did not like the sound quality. Not just on this forum but Audi forum as well

Agree, it is a compromise.

It probably equivalent to 160 Kbps or so.

I like the steering control you get it with it though. But end of the day I still control everything on my phone regardless.

Anyway, there are lots of good setups using aux; I'm glad you're happy with yours. I've been pretty satisfied with my chromecast audio -> dac -> aux myself.
Can you explain a few of the Pros and Cons of the Chromecast Audio set up?

Sure!

Pro:
- The audio quality when streaming from supported apps is great
- Offers an easy way for various passengers to play media without having to pair multiple devices.
- Offers optical out, synergy with dacs.

Con:
- Non supported apps are less convenient (you can stream system audio, but it's not quite as intuitive).
- Requires a wifi hotspot to function.
- Brief bootup time (perhaps 20 seconds or so).

I tried all the BT streaming options.
Unless there is an option that goes directly to USB digital like the USB stick in the armrest; all options are a compromise.

I use the USB input exclusively. Then you only have the DACs in the BMW system.
If you use the AUX input, well, how good is that input anyway?

now I'm confused. I've been using a cheap dongle for so long, which is decent but not Audiophile quality. It's usb powered but simply recieves the signal and then sends it through the AUX 3.5mm jack. Are you saying that you stream through the USB input? While not plugging anything into the 3.5mm?

The point of this thread is for those who use streaming options.

Yes it a compromise. But my thread is to point out weather you use AirPlay or Bluetooth there are different setups that produce decent and almost better sound than USB input. USB input for flash is too limited in my setup.

Clearly you haven't used all Bluetooth options. The very newer Bluetooth options have great built in DACs and supported codecs that pump out great sound through AUX.

yes
this is possible if you have 6FL option, although it's not compatible with IPhone until combox installed
i.e. if you have 6FL and your car is pre 2010/09 and android phone car will use phone as media player using MTP protocal
if you have 6FL option and your car post 2010/09 or have aftermarket combox installed it will work with android and iphone without 3.5mm, only using digital connector

Play nicely with bluetooth phone connection?

Does the Rocketfish bluetooth receiver play nicely with the integrated bluetooth phone connection using an iPhone 6?

I have the Professional radio, no 6FL connection (only Aux-In). If I am streaming music through the Rocketfish bluetooth receiver, and I receive a phone call, will the radio's bluetooth connection take precedent and allow me to answer the phone call? Once the call is terminated, will the Rocketfish music streaming bluetooth connection to my phone automatically take back over?

Typically your cars Bluetooth will take over and once finished it will resume back to what ever was playing from your phone or etc.

I can confirm this in all my setups

Thanks for the reply!

I am currently using the Apple Lightning to 30 Pin DAC to connect my iPhone 6 directly into the Aux In. Does anyone have a comparison of the audio quality from the DAC in this Apple connector to the built in DAC in the Rocketfish?

Rocketfish DAC will be better. Or the setup I have will be even better. But anything else besides the 30pin DAC is better lol
