cranks but wont start
hi
im having an issue with my 2008 bmw 335i coupe where the starter will crank but wont start at first it was intermittent then I would erase codes and it would be ok for a while then some of the codes wouldn't go away after deletion now it just cant be trusted to start again and it didn't for a few days so I brought it to a mechanic that works only on bmw and Mercedes he is convinced that the problem is the dme ecu he says he tested the different sensors giving the codes and the wiring and he says that the computer isn't giving the ground to those sensors when I talk to sia electronics that repair ecu they say that it doesn't seem to be a computer related problem according to the codes they say it might be a low level of oil which is strange as I had an oil change done very recently and the oil level indicates full (it is possible that the oil level sensor might be faulty I guess) before all this it was going into limp mode regularly here are the codes that do not delete easily 3100 boost pressure control deactivation 2a80 intake vanos activation 2a85 exhaust vanos activation 30cf wastegate activation 30d0 wastegate 2 activation here are other codes I have 2ef5 map thermostat activation 2a9a crankshaft inlet camshaft synchronization 2e85 electric coolant pump communication 2abd boost pressure sensor overrun 2caa oxygen sensor before catalytic converter 2ca6 oxygen sensor heating before catalytic converter any help would be greatly appreciated |

With the amount of codes you have I would say you should probably bring it to the dealer , have them do a 160$ diag unfortunately and get the 100% truth it's worth the money for the diag but the repairs you should do at another independent shop! Good luck

looks like it was a bad power to the connector between the sensors and the dme so tightend the pins on the connector problem seems solved for now but well see over the next few days if it comes back
