E92 Base Stereo -> BMW Individual Audio.. Possible?
Hi All,
I'm under delusion and need someone to talk me out of retrofitting BMW Individual Audio to my base stereo system (6 speaker). Here's what I think I'll need: - A Stereo Harness (4/6 from Technic?, maybe a stock one if it can be sourced?) - BIA Amp (825 Watt Lear one) - 16 speakers - Dashboard center speaker grill - Parcel Shelf with speaker cut outs. (For E92 I think it's just two cutouts for 2 'combo' speakers) - Rear door cards with speaker cutouts for midrange and tweeter. - Speaker grills - Recoding to HIFI/ BIA - taking out seats to fit in subwoofers To me this sounds like a fairly involved plug in play, but I can't be the first person to have considered this, and thus I'm a little worried that it's going to be a bit more involved than just splicing wires, new terminals, MOST connectors and other unforeseen items. I'm hoping it's not way outside the realm of a casual DIYer... |

I wouldn't say this was simple in any sense.
Yes you could do it and people in Europe do but you could do better going aftermarket. Usually they find a donor car or complete wire harness and hardware set. Technic's stuff is really not set up to do this. You don't have to remove the seats to change the speakers under neath the seats. Just lean them back and remove the Pod's there contained in . https://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/6494...ic-7-retrofit/ Basically the same as Logic 7 with the exception of the amp wiring . There used to be some big guides on doing this can't find them now. Last edited by ctuna; 05-02-2023 at 07:22 PM.. |

the rear trims is easier to cut with dremel then search another with cuts because you already have cut for mid speaker the rear shelf has to be swapped, thats correct

If you lean the seats back, will it trigger an airbag warning? |

As long as you don't unplug the seats it will not trigger any kind of alarm.
And there is plenty of cable to do that. Pictures included in link If you are going to work on the car for a long time you may want to disconnect the battery so it won't get drained. https://www.e90post.com/forums/attac...3&d=1329017429 |

yes, you can, but sometimes individual amp may want more power and then direct wire to battery is used
