Need help brainstorming - Hard starting 335D
I'm hoping one of you can help point me in the right direction on an odd hard starting condition for my 335D. The car is a 2011 M Sport with 225k on the clock. it's tuned and deleted and has been and is running great. I did a longer than normal commute with a stop to get fuel, some spirited driving, waited in a drive-thru for food and then parked it. Probably a 40ish minute trip. When I got in it an hour or so later. It cranked nice and fast but would not start. The car was still quite warm and it was a warmer 75 degree day. I let it sit for another 2 hours and tried it again and it still wouldn't start. Finally, I let it crank and gave it a little throttle input at the pedal and it fired up. Now it seems that I have to give a bump to the throttle to get it to start whether warm or cold.
I'm due an oil change, so I'm going to change the fuel filter at the same time in a couple of days to see if that will help. Wanted to ask if any of you had thoughts on the throttle input and how it's working into the starting equation. |

A few things to check.
1. When it doesn't start are you getting rpm while cranking? If not this indicates a bad CPS 2. Check your grounds, common problem that will lead to a no start condition. 3. Bad tank of fuel? Wouldn't hurt to load it up on fuek treatment and top it up from a high volume station.
