Hi everyone,
I have a 2010 323i, my left back turn signal just stopped working after I replaced a burnt brake bulb. Also the brake light works when I press the brake but nothing lights up when I turn the lights on except for the portion that is attached to the trunk. Any help is appreciated.

The brake lights are a common failure (at least in my 07) but it’s usually the electrical contacts messing with the light controller rather than actually a bad bulb

You can replace the bulb holders usually, but that can be expensive compared to attempting to clean/repair

Try cleaning the metal contacts with some electrical contact cleaner. You should be able to find some in the auto part / home improvement / electronics stores.

There are also some other diy methods for cleaning electrical contacts you could find on the internet

Thanks for the reply, do you mean the white plastic that holds the bulbs?

Remove the light bulbs

Now clean the part where the bulbs touch the metal strips, or replace the part altogether.

I may have mis-read this earlier. Are you saying the "light bar" does not turn on when your headlights are on? If so, there may be an issue with the LEDs on the tail light, and this is a more involved repair or more expensive replacement.

Pictures would be helpful though

Thank you for your help, I just checked it again and it wasn't properly pushed in all the way.
