At port awaiting a shipping vessel?
My car was taken off the liberty in NYC. Now the 800# says "your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." It's coming to Long Island. Does that mean it's awaiting a train or car to pick it up and bring it to the prep center?

It means it is in Bremerhaven awaiting a WW ship to come to NYC
Check the order tracking sticky by Steve92 good details If you have your VIN you may track it at Willhelm Wallenius site |

your post makes no sense. when your vessel reached port, it goes through VPC, then the message changes to en route and finally at dealer. from VPC to LI it is put in an enclosed carrier from BMW transport maybe your pops is screwing with you

Lol he's not screwing with me. I called the dealer myself a WHILE back and have been tracking the car since. It was awaiting a shipping vessel in Germany, then it was "in transit" for 12 days. I checked the status of the ship and it docked and discharged the car by April 30th. Now on May 1st the message changed to "awaiting a shipping vessel." Unless this is a classic 800# glitch but I've called several times today and received the same message. Not sure what's going on but I know my car is in NY.
Edit: also just to clarify I did follow the car by VIN # on the WW website and it said it's been in NY since April 30th. So for it to all of the sudden by awaiting a vessel is strange. It must be a glitch because I spoke to a customer rep and she said that was weird to her too |

It's probably just a glitch, don't worry about it. You'll probably have your car by this weekend if all goes well at the VPC.

Must be glitching but I called the 800# again today and it's still doing the same thing. Wish I had some way of knowing where my car is. Dealer is not being very helpful :-\

Actually it's not a glitch. It is "at the port waiting a vessel". They put that on when it's in Germany waiting and when it's in the US waiting for a vessel - truck. That means its at the VPC and probably waiting to be released to or has already been released to the trucking company! Your wait should be over soon! That of course if your truck doesn't break down like mine did and take 2 days to do a 2 hour drive! grrrrrrrrr

Everyone gets this message, including me, once your car is discharged from the ship and before it makes it to VPC. Don't worry.
