those squirrels are cute... but i don't see anything wrong here... If you hunt and eat what you hunt, no harm no foul. if you kill for the sake of killing, well, that's just shenanigans.

So what's wrong with this video?
I would say it would be wrong if he kills the animal for fun, but this guy usually kills animal that is considered as pest or to use as his food source. Nothing wrong with that. He shoots pest birds to feed his cats, and I see this is much more earth friendly than buying cat food that has much larger carbon foot prints. |

I think what makes this video look kind of sick but at the same time interesting is the slow motion of the shots. Slow motion shows the final split seconds of animals suffering and death. Kind of perverse. I personally don't have problem with it though.

This is a very humane way to die IMO. Having to love your whole life on a farm with the sole purpose of being slaughtered for food, I am less okay with that than using any part of a bear to kill a wild animal.

Boys...boys...calm down.
I'm going to be the adult here for a second. I just watched this video and I have to say this guy is a professional hunter. His shots were clean on the mark and the animal did not suffer. He did not shoot the animal in the body and wait for it to bleed out, he took his time, did it right. Yes some of you may not like it but well in this world of ours we are the apex predator thanks to our big brains. Now I'm an animal lover of the highest order and have even contemplated going vegan. But take a moment and breathe for a second. The man was hunting, and he was an ethical hunter. He did not bait the animals, he did not torture the animals and what he hit he ate. I’ve seen my fair share of hunters who kill only to kill and this guy is not one of them. Note the part where he discusses having to go up the tree to retrieve one of the animals. That right there shows that he’s a professional. Yes it’s “disturbing” but in our first world culture we tend to be a bit divorced from where our food comes from. So tonight when you sit down to eat, take a moment, take a deep breath, be at peace with yourself and thank the universe for providing you this sustenance. Ok. And for the record I would rather see the animal hunted than hit by a car and left for dead by the side of the road. Can we all agree on that? |

I saw more dead squirrels on the way to work this morning.
People need to get a grip. Death is a part of life. For some it comes earlier than others. It's called natural selection. If squirrels were smarter they wouldn't run out in front of cars. But if they didn't run out in front of cars, the neighborhoods would be over run with squirrels. yes. straight up over run with squirrels. Smart gangster thug squirrels that will beat your ass just for looking at them. Your dog won't even bark at these squirrels. Trust me, you don't want that.

I'm surprised by how many on this forum got all pissy pants about this!!
They are rodents! Just so happens some people eat them. I can remember as a kid killing ground hogs and chipmunks (both rodents) among other creatures. It was a lot of fun killing those little bastards, and no I never ate them. Ground hogs and chipmunks among other rodents can be very destructive. I'm sure some of the people on here whining about killing poor little innocent animals play golf... Ever wondered how they keep the fairways and greens so clean. Besides the regular maintenance the greens keepers are out there early in the morning trapping and killing destructive little animals. |

I sense a lot of coast residents here... Biggest hypocrites ever. "I'm okay with killing as long as I don't have to be discomforted by the thought!"

Atleast he is consuming the meat after shooting the animal. I'd say it's fucked to shoot a little animal like that, but i'd be a huge hypocrite considering the amount of beef, chicken, and turkey I eat on a weekly basis. If it was just for fun though, i'd say that's sad.
