For the record, putting an M badge in front of your 3xx is just daft in my opinion. However, saying that people with 320s shouldnt put M kit on their cars is ridiculous. People have been tuning, upgrading, modding (call it what you want!) cars since they were invented. To say you shouldnt because its a BMW is just arrogant. I can't afford an M3, but that doesnt stop me from taking styling cues from it. I dont pretend its an M3, but look to upgrade bits and pieces to M sport pieces, because they are better/more stylish, and they fit.

Making your bmw look like you've driven through halfords is a far bigger crime than putting an M badge on your car.
I am now lost!!!!

I don't see the drama to be honest. Where in the rule book does it say you have to have an M powered car to put an m badge on it?

An M3 badge is one thing. An M badge is wholly another. The car already has at least 7 on it already, what's the harm in one more?

As for making it something it's not, well that's a bollocks argument too. As I said, sticking a 335i badge on a 318d is very different, but that's not what we're talking about. Is it any different to people doing 335 exhaust conversions or putting wheels that only came on an M3 on it? How far do we go? Putting M3 mirrors on, is that a crime?

Granted, seeing M3 badges on 320s annoys me but if you're getting worried about someone putting a plain M badge on their car, then I'd live to have as few problems in life as you...

Who the fuck cares?!

I think that the overall opinion is that it is up to the individual to make up there own mind.

Thank you all for your opinion and thoughts.

It's not though is it.

It's like sticking an apple badge on your Apple Mac. It might not have come with one, but it's still a fucking Apple. What you ate talking about would be like sticking an M badge on your Xbox!

Chill people. The M badge arguement will gone on forever as everyone has different opinions.

Lets thank god we don't have anyone on the forum with one of these.

Agree with this. Incorrect badging or imitating is pointless, but subtle modding of an affordable bmw is creative.

I want one!!!

6 pot or 4 pot, //M badge or no //M badge, Petrol or Desiel. The world would be a boring place if we all drove 335D,M3 or 320i's

I don't like the //M badge but do i really care enough to give the poor guy abuse on a forum, not really......

Personally I would not want to drive around in a car that marked me out thus in the minds of 70% of other BMW enthusiasts.

There's no chance of you scratching the paint by removing the ///M badge, if you follow the usual instructions on here of using floss and then gently teasing off the sticky residue.
I doubt that 70% of BMW “owners” would even notice, never mind care. You may well find 70% BMW forum members (enthusiasts) would vote yes, but many of those votes would be driven by peer pressure. Does it really matter? Do whatever you want, it’s your car, but if you make it look ridiculous and then post pictures on here prepare to be flamed ... ....

Don't add extra random M badges. Simple as that.

Why is this a discussion.

If you add a badge, the hand you add it with should be cut off with a blunt machette.

I think you mistook what I was saying. I wasn't talking about arrogance. But Arogant People.

These small pygmi like creatures are a cross between small humans and carnivorous wolves. They were recently discovered, accidentally mind, by the BBC whilst filming a documentary on single breasted monkeys in the uncharted areas of the Brazlian Rainforest. The key feature of the Arogant people is that when a Marital couple have an argument the Female eats the husband alive in his sleep.

Hence why I don't like Arogant People. ( p.s I am married)

Those Arogant people are lucky. My wife wouldn't wait until I was asleep.

If you go to the trouble of adding an extra M badge, anywhere, you do it for a reason. Hmm, what could that be?

Probably it's because you are trying to enhance what people think of your car, and hence you, the driver. Realistically, you are sending a not so subtle signal out that you are a bit of a cock. You've probably gone to the trouble of hunting one down on ebay, or even had the front to go to the BMW parts desk and buy one.

When I see an extra M badge, I therefore make the assumption that said driver is a bit of a cock.

Just my opinion mind, so no one should get too offended.
