N54 catted midpipes on N55

Hello, I have a quick question on converting to N54 midpipes.

The N55 stock exhaust setup has an O2 sensor in front and immidiately behind the CAT in the DP, right?

So if I move to a catless DP and N54 midpipes, will drilling and placing an O2 sensor behind one of the CAT's be the solution to go with? I guess that will require extending the harness cable a bit to reach.

I don't know much about how the O2 sensors work, but will having the car think the sensor is so close to the engine, but placing it so far downstream cause it to read out of spec for the stock DME? I want to be able to remove the proceed and not have SES light on 24x7 because the exhaust is messed up.
How do people do this with catless DP? Just place the O2 sensor in the DP and let it live?

Thanks.
