I hope they get some video and document this in the episode for Mexico.
HD Theater is already showing this seasons races. But instead of just getting a recap of the weekend like we did in 2009 they are doing recaps of each day's stages. I have had Mexico on my PVR for a week now! I was surprised when I saw it. No more waiting 6 months for highlights like last year.

Shat! I need to start searching through the listings then... I had my DVR set to record anything WRC related but they must have changed the "title" of the show too. Thanks for pointing it out!

E30 from the golden era of BMW, a match between the driver and the car - this is how legends are made. Congratulations to Bill Caswell and his $500 E30.

OT: So is Ken Block in a different class than Sebastian Loeb?
No Ken Block is in the same class (rally car class) as Loeb, he just not as good a driver. Petter Solberg, Marcus Granholm Dani Sordo, Loeb, Miko Hirvonene, Marco Martin, Mika and Wilson are very good drivers. The good WRC drivers are incredibly good compared to everyone else. Ken Block is good in USA, but will get his pants beaten badly in the WRC. No disrespect, but its a fact. We have never had really good drivers in the US. The retarded speed limits and wide roads with lane displine would never allow for us to develop really good driving skills. Drive some of those scarely European mountainside passes and you will get an idea of how badly you suck when you thought you were good. I did it couple years ago, and have to admit I was humbled.

I happen to be a die hard WRC fan and have travelled around the world to live spectate WRC events. Nothing like being there in the fresh. The top seeded drivers are incredibly good compared to the rest of the field. TV doesn't do the spot justice since the camera elevation and pan always makes the cars seem like they are barely moving in comparison to real live activity on the ground. Oh and roll cage or not, those guys have balls of steel.

via Jalopnik. Remember, this guy also had a world-champion level navigator at his side. Still an amazing achievement nonetheless.

i know i doesn't sound very "BMW" but I am curious to see a rally inspired BMW for the road, as EVOs, STIs, and Lancias are all great cars, and are fast because of their rally heritage and focus

Just finished watching the three part coverage of this event on the Discovery Channel and reading the Jalopnik posts - truly an awesome accomplishment! Caswell did it all - racing director, driver, mechanic, recruiter of a navigator, videographer, reporter (via e-mails and texts). Two thumbs up!
