Error updating KOMBI in WinKFP. JBBF Updates fine... No EGS Update? Please Help!
So I wanted to update my transmission software because I feel like it could be smoother and I believe it has not been updated since the car was made.
I decided to update something like the KOMBI first instead to make sure everything was working as it should and my process with winKFP is right. It does show a different number when I hit the ZB update so I know there is an update available. Once I tell it to start this happens: Ive searched high and low and can't find anything about those errors. It seems like a mis referenced file? Maybe? I decided to try a JBBF update instead, which worked fine with no issues. 2nd part of my issue is that there doesn't seem to be any update for my transmission which I find hard to believe.... I've provided a copy of my UIF readout below: It seems that someone attempted some updating on 28.02.2012 but I still had a newer JBBF update (currently shows today as the programming day) so I'm not sure if they were actually updated or someone did something to make it seem that way... Either way my EGS shows 13.04.2007 ZB 7578236 but when I get to the page that confirms if there is an update it shows the same number...? Is there a way to be sure that this really is that latest update? Thanks a ton and sorry for a messy post. Scott

What version of files are you using?
What cable? Power supply? --------- Not come across that error before. Have you tried manually programming the flash using the zb number it gave you when trying to update... |

Not sure of brand but its worked perfectly for months for both coding and Alpina flashes, no power supply since I'm only updating small modules not the DME or CCC/CiC How would I try that procedure, the manual programming one?

Yeah, try the reinstall first and import the data with BMW Coding Tool - it removes any human error when copying files.
Comfort mode, click on Choose ZUSB and then choose the number you had when in update mode... |

NCSExpert works thought, same exact error on WinKFP when trying to flash the KOMBI.... This is very odd.

I've heard that BMW Coding Tool's WinKFP import is unreliable and prone to errors, so make of that what you will.

Here you go. Thanks for your help. It almost seems like a file issue. If you look at the error it seems like theres a discrepancy between an ID between two files. I joined MHHAuto and will download the latest possible SP-Daten later today (even though there I am basally have the most recent version for E9x)

Another question. If I run an update on a module, but the ZF is the same (so no update) and I flash it anyway will it restore the module to new? Like a full of reinstall of firmware I guess is what Im looking for on my RAD2. Im not sure if that would take too long over OBD though

Did you setup winkfp like my screenshot?
With regards to your other question. It would do, but then you'd need to code the module to your vehicle order. What would be the point unless the module was malfunctioning? |

I have a radio made in 2011 but it doesn't have the new gongs, and I feel like something is up with the firmware or it was initialized wrong for my car so i want to reflash it.

Have you guys tried to use external power supply?
I have a feeling that voltage being lower than 12v does not allow kombi (high) to be flashed?

Any update on this?
Another possibility is that you are running low on C drive?
