Difference between LCI and pre-LCI front bumper
What is the difference between a 05-08 E90 328i front bumper lip area and a 2011 E90 328i bumper lip area? They seem to look exactly the same yet all the cool lip mods seem to only advertise fitments for 05-08 (lips w/o splitters, etc.)..
not talking about grilles, just the bottom where a lip can be placed. Last edited by floss ur teeth; 05-08-2012 at 10:56 AM.. |

look again at the stuff that influence the shape of the bumper (especially at the hood line, the bumper flow, the kidneys, the fogs... just about everything). They really aren't the same.

The big difference is in the grilles. Look closely at the grille openings on each bumper. You will see that the pre-lci has many more snap-in holes for the grille (7 I beleive) while the LCI bumper has fewer. The pre-lci grille is a 2-piece design with the top part of it attached to the hood. As for the bumper itself, I believe that size-wise they will fit. The dimensions are the same. That said, you would need a pre-lci hood due to the 2-piece grilles. Someone has also modified the grille openings on a pre-lci M3 rep to make it fit his LCI grilles but I'm not sure where that thread is.

OP, just about the front, the hood and front bumper are clearly different. In the bottom gap on the LCI there is no metal trim running through it for one. Two, the the LCI has the amber reflectors on the bumper instead of in the headlight fixture. The list goes on. I highly suspect trollism. |

Floss- I love the look of the Hamman lip as well. At the moment I can't decide if I want to go with a lip or wait on an LCI bumper rep. I wish that there were more aftermarket attention for our bumpers. |

I might be buying a carbon fiber Hamman lip. I will post pics up if I end up getting it. |

I believe htis is a situation wherein everyone maybe reading too much into the question.
OP, from what I read...you want to know if you can use the bumper lip for both types of bumpers. Basically a universal fit?? |

hamman lip
I believe there are threads on the forum saying that the hamman lip is perfect fitman on the e90 lci. I am planning to buy one this summer as well, question is, whats the difference between authentic hamman and hamman style? I was thinking of getting authentic, but then the price is just too expensive

As I know, both lci and pre lci (non M sport) e90 cars have the same engine belly pan. So, screw location is also the same. You may screw a lci front bumper into a pre lci belly pan w/o having any problem.
