I've watched the videos about this job before and it doesn't look thaaat difficult but for someone that has never messed with this car at all it's probably not such a good idea.
Do they need to be replaced ASAP? What are the quotes like from shops? For first jobs I'd try doing stuff like brake pads or valve cover gaskets maybe, belts. Something like this seems quite involved and probably will take you ages to do right the first time

I'd ask why bother doing them in the first place. Yes the car will use more oil, yes it might smoke a bit but if there are no other symptoms then I don't really think the work is worth the reward.
