Question What's drawing current and shouldn't be (during sleep)?

Since I bought my '06 325xi a month ago, the starter cranks slowly, I assumed due to a weak battery. After it needed help starting today, I took it to my favorite BMW shop.

They determined the battery is marginal. Plus, when everything is shut off (sleep), the current draw is almost 2X what they normally see (it's about .08 amp and normal is .05).

He agreed for that delta, it's probably not worth the (unknown) cost of diagnosis.

So, I said I'd post it on the forum to see if any of you have seen this before and know what it could be. As far as I can tell, the car is bone stock with the Premium and Cold Weather packages, and the only other 'problem' is the driver seat lumbar adjuster is dead. (I failed to mention that; maybe it has a short? All I know about electricity is just enough to be dangerous.)

Any ideas?

First pdf contains ibs info.

what can keep it awake any of the door sensors,
trunk sensor or a paired cell phone is supposed
to keep it on for and hour .

If the battery is 10 years old its done.

You probably are going to need some diagnostics
the good news is you can get the Carly App
for your smart phone for around 110 and it will
also allow you to code the car.

Or if you are good with computers buy a k can
or k plus d can cable and go to the coding board
here and set your self up with diagnostic and coding software that is BMW specific.

Along with CTUNA's advice. Here is some more sound advice, buy a new AGM type battery, code and register properly. Every time you park the car, even in your own garage, lock it with the fob to shut most systems down.
