No stage 1 aggressive

so I was looking through my cobb maps, and I have all of them except the stage 1 aggressive. I have stage 1 drive and sport in linear and stock throttle, but no aggressive. I just purchased the ap port today from VAC. Is my AP not updated?

You can connect it to a pc and use the software to put maps onto your AP. I have never had to do it since I bought mine used and it already had the maps and correct ECU loaded so I can't help more but it should be all in the instructions.

No idea, but download the maps you want from the cobb website, that way youll know youre at the correct revision.

I am not planning on using the aggressive map, I was just wondering why it wasn't there. If the aggressive map isn't there, then does that mean the sport map isn't updated as well. I am running the sport map but want to make sure I have the current version.

Are you sure you are running the right maps for you car? i.e the right map for you ecu? There are many ecu versions, you need to run the maps made for your version. Though, I suspect you wouldn't be able to install maps if they were a for a different version ecu, but I am not sure on that.

The ap will tell you what your ecu version is when you plug it into your car. You need to make sure the maps are for you ecu number.

Are you running the latest version of the map (currently 4.01)?

If I were you, I'd install access port manager (get it at cobb), connect your ap to it, make sure the ap is running the latest firmware. Also download the aggressive map, put it on your ap and install it on your car. Silly to use the sport map if you have 93 octane.

If aggressive isn't there, likely the previous owner deleted it.

OP please dont let the word "aggressive" scare you off. None of the OTS maps are aggressive, all taper boost hard and have modest advance. Just try stg1 aggressive and log.

Definitely gonna log soon. I downloded the ap manager and I have all the latest updates. One more noob question that I haven't seen yet...After installing a map, is there any kind of break in period before you can start getting on it? I installed the stage 1 sport and got on it pretty much right way. In no way did I go WOT, but I put it in sport drive and punched it s I was eager to feel the difference.

I like to learn guys, I know there has been a lot of questions, but most of my questions are ones I can not find answers to. I like to learn and know exactly what's going on.

In a year form now I will know everything there is no know about my car and engine, and will probably be fully modded. I am loving learning new things bout my car and modding.

Before you get on it, make sure your oil is up to temp. I usually wait (except in case of emergency....) until the oil temp gauge moves off the bottom notch.

And install stage 1 aggressive, dammit.

Your car needs to adapt, 3-4 WOT pulls is sufficient. Please though, stop making new threads for every small thing about the COBB. Just use one thread and post in it. Also, this stuff is very common knowledge if you at least attempt to search for it.

I do wnt to install aggressive, but I don't have any other mods other than a drop in air filter. I have read that aggressive stage 1, even though cobb says you don't need a fmic, is not a good idea on a stock car. hmm..

Stage 1 aggressive is fine as long as you are running 93 octane. I have never heard of anyone saying it is not a good idea on a stock car (this is not to say it hasn't been said). If you are concerned, log and post the file here for analysis.

Try it and see. I never actually tried sport. Use the map for the mods/fuel you are running. Simple.

You are, and you are also running an OTS map that has generic WGDC tables not fine-tuned to a certain vehicle. Every car is different, with different wastegate health, etc. That said, you also just increased load, changed all your timing tables values, throttle tables, etc. The DME we have is smart enough to make minor adjustments to better suit your car's specific hardware/situation. For example, someone who has extremely tight wastegates because their turbos are new will get throttle closures throughout the RPM band, pulling back timing and load to correct the boost overshoot. The DME can correct for this when it adapts to a small degree, although it can (most likely will) still be there. This is why I reccomend everyone get a protune, or learn ATR and make a map themselves.
