Misfire: Let off when you detect it or power on through while data logging?
So I am always chasing endless misfires. Do you guys normally let off when you detect it or power on through so you get a full log of what is going on. I can't get myself to stay into it because I can hear the car making bad sounds and it falls flat on its face. So as soon as it does this I let off.
My friends tell me that they just keep it floored. What do you guys do? I take it that the engine is protected by killing spark so it does not take out a piston or head gasket. But during misfires it sure sounds to me like I can hear detonation.

If you are misfiring you don't really need a log of the event. You need the codes to determine which cylinder is missing, and go from there with plugs, coils, injectors in that order.
