2008 328xi Cleaned Vanos, now what?

Cleaned both Vanos solenoids, car still puts out P0012 code. Now what?
Any idea what might I try next?

Clean the filter and change the oil

Buy new VANOS solenoids. Don’t get aftermarket

Vanos solenoids, and an oil change with a new OE filter. Make sure the inner portion of the oil cap is in place and has new o-ring. If that o-ring is missing, it allows unfiltered oil to enter the solenoids.
