Thanks for the DIY. Needed to do this today to replace my lower grilles. Very easy process..but I was just coming off putting a custom turbo on my e36 m3 so it wasn't difficult at all. $80 shipped for black lower grilles..

Is it possible to take enough of the lower screws out, to reach your hand up and remove the lower grilles without having to take the whole bumper off?

Im worried about the headlight washer springs, since I dont even know what they are.

Might be possible, especially if you have it up on ramps or jack stands. Still, you will have to bend the bumper out far enough for the grilles to clear the intercooler, and this may still stretch out the springs on the headlight washers.

Thanks for the writeup! I was able to swap out my lower grills in 30 min. Did you figure out how to do this on your own?

Thanks for the DIY! I was able to remove bumper even without the pics up and I'm the type of guy that rather pay people to do the work than get my hands dirty.

It's really easy as you just follow directions (all screws are counted in each step) and look around a bit. It's all there if you have a e92.

Goodluck guys!

Since they are already stretched, just open the cover enough so you can grab the headlight washer arm and pull it out. Detach the springs from the arm (the just slip out) and let it go. Then just grab the headlight washer arm and pull it back out to them back on. Mine were a little loose, but after a couple days they compressed again, and are flush just like they were before I took the bumper off.
How do they get stretched-out, as I thought the entire assembly comes off with the bumper cover?

THANK YOU!

This looks AWESOME, and will help me tremendously.

HOWEVER, I noticed that as of the time of my viewing (July 19, 2011) a fair number of the pictures in your instructions are missing... can you update the pictures, or let me know of another way to view the full manual you have posted here?

Thanks again!!
