*#$@#U SWIRLS!!

Hey all,

I'm just writing to vent a little bit, because I know the people here will actually give a darn (unlike my wife who just gave me a halfway condesending sorry and 'pat on the back').

I had my car tinted last saturday. After getting home (unfortunately I didn't inspect while at the shop) I noticed that the car had a lot of drips on it. I know tinters use some liquids and some must have gotten on the outside of the car.

Well the tinter just dried up his work... by dragging a towel across the dirty surface (I had planned on washing after the tint appointment). So now I see a bunch of swirls in the paint, but since I left without looking, it's my word against theirs. I was going to call and complain but I have a feeling they're just going to deny it.

I'm so upset, because I am so careful with the car- I always handwash and I don't even let the dealer wash the car. Had I known this was a possibility I would have told him not to worry about it, or brought some microfiber and detail spray with me.

Try calling them politely telling them about your issue. The swirls can be polished out so perhaps they could cover the cost of a detail.

While it does s*ck given the amount of car that you personally take, it's nothing that can't be undone. In the grand scheme of things, swirl marks are no big deal and it's likely that these won't be your last.

Now I have to decide, do I spend a few hundred on an RO+polishes, or put it towards the laser jammers I was eyeballing. Decisions, decisions...
