Limits of power for the N54?

Does anyone know what are the limits that anyone can tune the N54 even with new more powerful turbos?
When will the engine block, transmission, driveshaft etc. start to fall apart?

We'll be finding out in the next 12-18 months.

Grab some popcorn & beverage of choice, sit back and enjoy the show!

I do enjoy explosions and fires...especially if it is not my car.

Yeah, I was the crash test dummy with my last car (RX-8), not interested in a repeat performance after Engine #3.

So your one of the ones that learned the Renesis engine doesn't take well to boost like the old 13b's?

Actually the renesis took alot of my beatings and still asked for more. I had nitrous on mines, then I turbocharged it and that thing keep on taking a licking from me. I ran too much nitrous on it and it blew right on the track. It blew up the manifold and every part of the intake. I replaced those parts and the car fired up with no other issues. I think I replaced the manifold and intake on that sucker 3 times until I gave up on nitrous, then I finally turbocharged it. And it ran like a champ until I got rid of it, one of the best handling cars I ever drove though.

"Oh, I've treated my RX-8 well. Only drive it to the grocery store and sometime to work. No problems at all. Mods? What are those?"

so far, 400 RWHP (470 BHP) has been about as good as it gets w/ bolt-ons, tune, and race gas. There are no turbo upgrade kits out yet for sale.
