Gadget surprise

Had surprise yesterday morning, windscreen was misted so whacked on the heat to the front screen. Whilst sat in the car shivering I noticed steam rising from the door mirrors.

Yup heated mirrors, and they *were warm as toast.*
I was unaware I had these, I did not select them and do not have a button to activate them. Is this a BMW gift for msports?

Aren't they just connected to the rear window demister?? Maybe a 6 cylinder feature or something??

Ok that makes sense, had the rear window heater on. But, I have a four pot.. Still looking in the standard spec list to see if it is there..

I didnt think i had any either untill a few weeks ago!

I read a thread on here about them only working at a certain temperature, and if your wipers are on.

I put my wipers on auto all the time now and they seem to work all the time now

Surely heated mirrors would be stated on the spec list? It's not a deal maker but something at least worth a mention.

I have the visability pack, but no mention of heated mizzles?

They are standard and activate if your wipers are on or it's below a certain temp

All models have heated mirrors, always have (on E9x). I think they are temperature controlled.
