Bump for a gorgeous piece of machinery. The similar avenue I'm going with my 328.

Damn, difficult to see a 2006 330i very nicely modified with fairly low miles not getting many bites. I hope things turn around because its a very nice ride!

Guess this means my 2006 330i with almost double miles would have no chance at resale with its mods for a decent amount.

Hey, good hearing from you! I've got a couple of prospective buyers I'm talking with on the back channels, so we'll see. Thanks.

As someone with a keen interest in the car who is still trying to put a competitive offer together, it is with tongue planted firmly in cheek that I say, "I hope these back channel discussions go horribly!"

Ack! Now I've bumped it too.

Im also in the area of extremely wanting to pull the trigger.

A) Scared of buying long distance (Ive never done it, but also this gentleman seems trustworthy) Also, shipping???

B) Waiting on the approval which is 5 business days off.

Beautiful piece of machinery though and I want it!

Although this would be my first BMW, I've bought several other cars online, sight-unseen, from the other side of the country. In each case the cars were bought through enthusiast site classifieds like this. It's great because you can easily learn a bit more about a potential seller by reviewing their posting history. Established members are more invested in the community, and IMO less likely to act in a way that would damage their reputation. Based on his posting history and willingness to answer questions via email and PM (in addition to normal sanity checks you want someone who comes across as well-organized because a long-distance buy-sell arrangement requires fairly detailed coordination), I have no concerns in dealing with this seller.

There may be BMW-specific tips for buying over the internet, but at a minimum you'll want the car taken for a pre-purchase inspection, which I've typically paid for as the buyer. Once everything checks out you can arrange payment and transport with the seller. I've used cross-country shipping companies, and have also coordinated road trips with the seller. It's a little scary having the seller drop off the car after driving across the country! If anything goes wrong during the trip you're both in a bit of a bind

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Good luck to everyone involved!

So, this car has been the poster child of the 330i that I've been planning to buy. Literally have this car as my desktop. And I missed the chance to buy it.

Sadness.

Hey Donia-

Good hearing from you! My decision to sell the 330i was not an easy one, and in the end, I did find a buyer who shares the enthusiasm displayed on this forum. He stated he will continue to show the car on this forum. That was important to me.

I have a new Mini JCW Roadster on order, and simply don't need both. I bought a used Mini Cabrio a few years back that I steadily built up to where I wanted it. The driving experience in the Mini is hard to describe unless you've driven one...it is totally engaging. And, with the Mini you have a large amount of BMW DNA in the cars, so, I'm sort of staying in the family.
