For people who have already installed a CIC stereo/satnav. Combox from 2010 BMW E92 LCI (BN2000), together with a plug and play harness, and a double FAKRA lead so it will just plug into a pre-LCI car with NO cutting of wires. In theory it should just need programming, but other than making sure the plugs were correct, I never fitted it. I bought all this to go on my old E92, but broke my laptop so I couldn’t program it, and so shelved it. Now sold the car so this is surplus.
Also got a genuine BMW in car combined USB/AUX panel for the centre console and a 90 degree FAKRA lead though I don’t think it’s the right one, so treat that as a freebie.
Ive also got a guide to coding that I printed off ages ago, but again I haven’t used it so cant confirm its accuracy. It seems very detailed though!
I think this is everything needed, but don't take my word for it - please do your own research!

Excuse my ignorance, but what will it allow me to do with my iDrive that I can't do now? (I don't have a combox in mine atm)

Combox gives you a USB in the armrest if you don't have one already, plus dual channel Bluetooth for streaming audio and telephone, plus BMW Live which you have to subscribe to (there are ways around this...) and internet tethered to your phone so you can browse using the Idrive.
Also if you plug your phone to the USB you can display album art if you are pulling music direct from the phone, but of course you could just use the internet and your spotify account to play music through the Combox. There are lots of threads and videos on this.
This all requires coding of course!

No it would need coding at a minimum, and you would have to check the leads.

Uhhh I already have a usb and aux in the armrest.

Should I be getting Audio bluetooth? I only have phone.
