I asked you because I know that I could count on you for good information because that's mostly what I see from you on this forum and I welcome your expertise on this matter.

Thanks, I really do appreciate it.
Not even upset, everyone always asks for power, I would take 5 whp less hp,. but a meatier powerband all day.

Your post, even says MORE POWER >.>

MHD for N55 is in it's infant stages though, you can follow it on the main thread, which is probably right above or below your original post in this very forum.

Get in touch with Martial from MHD since you have Cobb, I 'think' there is a special way of handling it, more than just uninstalling the device.

Ok,thanks....I just thought I may have read somewhere back that it was no need to stack the Cobb with the MHD since they both flash the ECU............I could be wrong though but thanks for the info I'll see what Martial knows.

Peace

I know MHD has an E30 map so I know that one will be more powerful than the Cobb's Stage 2 but how about the regular Stage 1 and Stage 2, does it produce more power than the Cobb?

That is the question.

Thanks
MHD has more tables for the tuner to modify that can produce power since that is all you seem to be aiming for. If you want a peak number, get a Jb4, they have been known to produce higher than flash only numbers, with shitty curves in torque. But hey, you got a high number.

At the last BMw dyno, the two N55s that were flash only, made 8 whp less than JB4/back end flash N55s, but we made 150 trq more, and sooner.
Mine made 422 whp, 500 trq, next runner up was N55 that made 430 whp, and 360 lbs of trq with JB4 and back end flash stack.
What psi were you running when you hit 430whp and 500tq? I'm FBO pure stg 2 also but haven't made the switch to MHD yet.

You can beat a dead horse with the stock turbo til your blue in the face. Different tunes, supporting mods, etc etc... Just save for the Pure stage 2 upgrade.

Definitely go with a bigger turbo- that's our bottleneck- we run out of breath

24 peak, taper to like 14, just a pump map

Those are pretty low numbers for 24psi don't you think? PWG PS2 should be making 500ish hp at 24psi. I ran 24psi at 2 1/2mi events on e60ish and was able to take down the new 650hp Z06 as well as a 600hp cts V. I have to imagine yours should be producing power similar to mine.

[IMG][/IMG]. This is what I was running. JB4, Cobb BEF, but I'll be the first to say that there is room for improvement as I still have random misfires

So jb4 + cobb bef is the best setup so far for ps2 ??? Why the misfires ?

I do not think JB4 + Cobb BEF is the best or most reliable setup (for e85). No one can figure out our phantom misfires. One run I'll be flawless to 155 at an 1/2 mi event; next run I'll misfire in 4&5th gear a dozen times. That's why I'm so excited to see MHDs release. But to my knowledge, it's still not being pushed like the Steve has helped me push my car so far.

Which setuo would you say is the best then ? For now its jb4 + cobb bef right ? If you lower boost lets say 19 psi do you still misfire ?

MHD is pretty new to the N55 but as they dive into other areas of the ECU it will likely be the most capable option.

For now; yes. Youll get the most power from jb4+cobb BEF e85. The support Steve and jb4 puts out is next to none. Map 7 runs fine 9/10 times when Im in it. But the difference between Map 7 and Map 6 24 psi is like the day I went from the stock turbo to PS2. Butt dyno approves.

With that being said - MHD is the future with custom fuel setups. I hope to run into another n55 PS2 at the 1/2 mi events this spring. Plenty of N54 big turbos.

Sorry. Map 6 24psi is for PS2.

As Steve says, every engine is different and you need supporting mods (fuel/fuel delivery) to get the max out of your turbo.

I'm no expert in stock turbo tunes but it sounds like everyone is happy with MHD with their beta on stock turbo being much smoother.

I was speaking of PS2 tunes - JB4/Cobb BEF being the best solution for power at this point IMO

Aside from being better maps the process to swap between maps is 2 min vs 10-20 COBB takes.

MHD just offer so much more flexibility and options. Also, get yourself an upgraded LPFP so E85 is not an issue.
You made more power on MHD off the shelf maps than a PTF cobb map, with the same supporting mods? If so, that's awesome! FWIW my Cobb never took more than 60 secs ever to switch maps.
