Cic Nav - music hard drive

I normally create my own playlists on itunes and burn to a CD and copy it to my car then give the cd to the missis for her car and i can burn it so i get the titles. Recently bought a couple of cd's and have copied them onto the hard drive but there is no titles etc Anyway i can input this myself as its just says audio cd track1 track2 etc.

Cheers in advance.

I reckon you have to name them on the PC first.

I think some CDs do have the title names on them but I'm not sure all CD players can read that info. (AFAIK).

It read the MP3 tag so you'll have to delete and start again.

Yes, I think you've effectively just copied the CDs in native format (CDA files/representation) which contain no tag data and some CD players can't read any data from the CD-text track if there's one there at all. What you need to do is "rip" the CDs as MP3 files and then "burn" the resulting MP3s to a CD.

If the ripping software connects to a tag database (such as Gracenote) then the tags are attached automagically. Most ripping software does this - iTunes certainly does.

As far as I'm aware an ID3 tag is created from the CD/track info when the MP3 is created, but if the info isn't on the CD the ID3 tag will be empty - unfortunately not all CDs have the info in the first place, were tags created when your wife loaded the CD?

If you convert the CD to MP3 on a computer you can download the tags from the net
