New DMTL PUMP and GAS CAP still throwing codes!

Hey guys....was really hoping I wouldn't have to make a thread but I need your help. I've searched as much as possible through the forums on this topic and everyone had success by replacing both pump and gas cap.

Got these codes which triggered the SES Light :

P2401
P2419
P240A
P2A13 DMTL Leak Diagnosis Pump, control
P2A12 DMTL solenoid valve, control
P2A18 DMTL Heating Control

I can clear the codes via my COBB AP V3, however as soon as I turn car off and back on the SES Light comes on and same codes appear. I have replaced both the DMTL Pump and Gas Cap, and its still not fixing the problem. It doesn't seem to affect the car at all as everything is operating fine.

The only thing I can think of please see picture below. There is one hose going into the DMTL Pump that has a blue tab on it that you press to dis-connect. There seems to be about 1/8" inch of play on this back and forth...however it does " click " into and out of place.

Any help or tips is greatly appreciated!!!!

Yes thank you "batman_e92". I read that post and inspected all wiring and I do not have any chaffing on the wiring.

It is located behind the driver side rear wheel. Very easy to get to and replace. I hope it fixes your problem. Still going crazy over here trying to figure this out .

UPDATE. I had pretty much given up on this but this past weekend, when taking my winters off and putting summers on, I noticed something in the drivers side rear wheel well.

My wire did not "chafe" in the typical area where the wheel well liner rubs against it..however about 6 inches higher. One of my wires looked to have shorted out and was pretty much disintegrated. I spliced a new wire in..cleared the codes...and it's staying off for now.

I will update tomorrow as I have to drive the car about 100 miles tomorrow. Let's see what happens fingers crossed.

Help me Pass smog

So I have 3 codes P2401 P1429 P2419 I replaced my gas cap, canister and also DMTL. I also checked for wires and they're all good. I still have the 3 codes after running the car with my erased check engine. At this point In thinking of doing a smoke test but was wondering if anyone had any ideas? BMW E90 330i 06

2A15 - where to go next?

Hi folks,
New to the group with my 2009 E92, and wondering if someone can shed further light on this, please?

Bought the car late last year with 71k miles on it from a used car dealer who seemed to specialize in German trade-ins from local dealerships. This car caught my eye immediately because of its mileage, condition interior and exterior, and because damn it's such a good looking car too! Also, they had a local BMW dealer take care of 3 outstanding recalls before I took the car. As far as I can see, the car is stock.

I bought the Protools package, both the coding and the diagnostic tool, and I've made a few mods here and there, stuff like window opening, sunroof opening, folding mirrors, and a few things with DRL and so on. So far so good, with the exception of one mistake where I enabled the automatic door locking and one day got out of the car to take a photograph only to find that the doors locked behind me!!!!! thankfully, the sunroof was open so I was able to get my fat arse in there and unlock it

Anyway, to my question, which is about the DDM DME 2A15 error that the car throws out after a hundred miles or so after clearing it using Protools. On the surface it doesn't point to the DMTL but rather to a "minor leak" further up the line. I changed the gas cap 1st but the code came back, so I changed the breather solenoid (?) on the side of the throttle body since that was the next logical step but the code came back again fairly soon after. I do have a brand new Bosch DMTL to install, but so far the code doesn't really seem to point to that, so is it still a possibility and should I change it? Or is there something else that could look at before moving to that? I realize that the answer is a fairly obvious yes to changing the DMTL, but I wanted to question it since nothing about the code really points to that component in the vehicle even though they are really linked.

No other codes exist on the vehicle.

Many thanks in advance!

Changed the DMTL for a shiny new Bosch unit. Took about an hour all told.

Cleared the 2A15 code with Protool and set off. Sure enough, the "Close Gas Cap" warning came back after 100 miles or so, closely-ish followed by the "Service Engine Soon" light. Damn.

What next? Smoke test? Is there some way to fudge this damned thing so the alarm won't come back? I drive about 5k a year because I use a work vehicle for everything else. I know, I know..... emissions are important, but for 5k a year am I really a bad person?

Feeling a little deflated.

Check fuel pressure regulator for cracks/leaks. Im currently getting that code and in the same boat as you but found out recently my fuel pressure regulator is cracked and leaking a bit

Also potential problem is the fuel tank breather line that runs from the top of the fuel pump hat to just below where you put the gas nozzle in. The hose runs through a little channel in the wheel well that had rubbed and created a small hole in the hose for me. Hole was enough to throw codes for evap leak and prompt the "close gas cap" message on my iDrive.

Can you be more specific? What red connector wire? Where is it located? Trying to see if this is my problem also
