KDCAN Cable

Hey, does anybody have a K+DCAN cable for sale or borrow in the GTA? MHD can't contact my DME and I'm wondering if it's my cable. I'm hoping I didn't brick my car. Thanks!

I think it will be pretty difficult to brick your car with MHD.

I actually made a big mistake of trying to flash from my android head unit without thinking. It of course shut down the head unit mid cycle I was then able to flash my dead unit from a phone with an OTG adapter without any big problems... It will even write the latest code for the ECU if you don't backup properly and have something go wrong like I did...

I just got a cable form amazon that had reviews that said it worked for MHD. Here was the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You might need to get a different one on amazon.co.ca The generics might not be as fast as some but they work.

Rich, that takes a huge weight off of my shoulders. I have read that it's relatively easy to recover. Right now I have my car battery charging and my phone charging. Will try again later.

I appreciate the tips!

Yea I had a temporary panic moment myself so knowing the feeling I thought it might be worth an encouraging msg.

My OTG adapter wasn't working and the android head unit was the only thing I had working and making an OTG connection. I relaxed, made my own OTG cable for my old phone and then was able to flash it without a problem.

Ha! I don't think I could do what you did. Luckily my otg cable and kdcan cable were fine. It really was a case of low voltage. I re-flashed the DME and it treated it as a fresh new install. It was the most gut wrenching 18 minutes of my life.

But you're right, taking a step back, relaxing and tackling the problem with a clear head really helps. Cheers!
