Software update
I have a 2011 335d and smog is due. I had an appointment to bring it in and as luck would have it my check engine light came on. The car doesn’t like going to the doctor I guess...the two reoccurring codes are 3FF1 “mass air flow sensor” and 4AD5 “fuel adaptation”. The 3FF1 I’m assuming can be fixed by coding or a software update, as the MAF is a new OEM Bosch unit. The fuel adaptation codes are defiantly fixed by a software update, as there are BMW service bulletins regarding them. My question is, what are my options for a software update aside from getting charged $300 in labor by the dealer for a DDE update?

If you do a google search some will come up.
Do the search BMW coders San Francisco or Silicon Valley. Elliot at detail addicts in San Jose use to be the go to guy. Don't know if he is around any more . He started some of the stickys at the top of the forum. |
