So... yeah, E92 front end parts will not fit E90/1 chassis. The only one person on this forum who did it, provided very vague answers and basically said the only thing that needs to be modified is the fenders, which is not the case, unless you got dropped on your head and think that the hood should sit like this...

For the record, here's how the fenders sit. I was ready to start chopping away till I fit the hood, and decided I wasn't trying to start cutting and welding metal to widen the hood by 2" or so.

For a moment, I considered changing plans to go with E90 M3 fenders and shave the side vents, but then, I'd still have bulge on the hood, and wider fenders in the front....

LCI E90 front end it is then... :

And on the brighter note.... this! makes me, so happy ! I couldn't STAND even thinking about seeing those tan trunk liners.

Will pull em out for some deep cleaning when the car goes in for paint.

Did you find an interior to swap in, or are you keeping the red?

Looks like you'd have to get pretty clever with fabrication to pull off the E92 front end

which since you've gotten this far, I definitely think you should still try and pull it off

I really think you need to do the old "cut and paste" to make the E92 LCI a reality. I think it would be so unique and completely worth it. You need to cut an L from the E91 fender (close to door and mid section) and an opposite L from the E92 fender. I did this way back on my E46 M3 Sedan Conversion. The hood needs to be "trimmed" by trial.

Uh dude, I wish it was that simple, the problem here is.... E90 fenders are steel, E92 are plastic ! Like I said.... I'm not too worried about the the fenders, but the hood can't simply be trimmed, it has to be cut down the middle, and "V'd" out on top about 2", then weld in a plate to close the gap... Not so simple with a hood considering it's double ply.

You have no idea how bad I want to use the Coupe headlights !

Did some things on the panels, not done yet, very tedious work.

Original door insulation appeared to have been previously removed to address window regulators and wasnt properly sealed after so I removed and cleaned all the butyl so I can install fresh new seals and insulation pads.

I also added the comfort access plugs and installed a CA handle, tested and works perfect. In addition to to the CA plug, I added another set of plugs, one for a future soft close door retrofit (already added additional wiring to the chassis harness before I assembled the interior), and a plug for ambient lighting strips on the door cards.

The tweeters were replaced with HK ones from a F01 because I simply liked the design a little more than the Exx HK tweeters lol. Removed the foam from the back of the mesh to make the tweeters more visible and added the HK pins to the mesh (will post pics when door panel is reinstalled).

Used the ambient lighting trim from the rear E92 panels and fit them to the E90/1 door cards. Lucked out by having two pairs of E92 rear panels for donors.

Here's a few in progress photos... hoping to finish all the door panels and reassemble them this week, TD been extremely time consuming !!

Love the progress! You made the right choice with the interior color, and got another car out of the deal 😎

The saddle really looks good with the Monaco. I might swap that into my new wagon if I find a decent set.

Planning to do a 6MT swap in the next year or so too.

This thread sure makes me want to take it one step further though, and find a decent donor N54 or N55.

Updating as I make any progress, you can see I've mainly posting to myself here for weeks lol

The headlights, and all body parts are at the bodyshop (in NYC). The car is in the shop in NJ still, I'm finishing up a few mechanical bits and pieces so I can get the car up to NYC finally....

This weekend discovered that one of the cats is clogged and the fumes were smelling like shiiet.

Also scrubbed the rear wheel liners and installed them.... will never clean another set after this one lol, what a disaster (sooooo much dust and dirt and debris).

Putting in my last big order on all the suspension and brake components this week, then off she goes for her facelift and make up.

Mean while... test fitted the 437M's with original F8x tire spec and kinda feeling it a lot more now, was considering (still am) getting the 18" 513M's... loove those!

Did you get the HK pins for the F01?
And how did you do the ambient light strip?

Do you still own the e91 on the first page? I think I spotted your car parked at stop and shop in coney island a few months ago. Couldn't stop looking as I hardly see e91s in person. :

HK pins came from LCI E92 tweeters. What specifics would you like to know about the Ambient strips? You need to buy an E92 rear panel to source the parts, or buy them separately.

You can also buy the F30 ambient strips but they are a little harder to make flush with the panel, E92 ones sit a little better in the crease. For power, you can tap into the window switch that feeds the lighting to the buttons.
