BMWPS and Bilsteins??

Getting ready to pull the trigger on new suspension. I've read many B12 pro kit posts, a few BMWPS and koni posts, and a couple Eibach pros / koni posts. Has anyone tried running the BMWPS on bilsteins though (one yellow-ass setup ha)? I remember reading a post comparing the Eibach rates to those of the BMWPS, and the two being similar.

I'm running that set up on my 335is complete with M3 front and rear arms and Bimmerworld adjustable rear toe arms.
The set up is a little firm for me, I think I might like the Konis better but not a bad set up as is.

I wouldn't do that. The B12 kit has a "specific" set of Eibach springs designed just for the B8 shocks @ struts in that kit. In addition, Eibach also has a swaybar(s) you can buy for $275.00 that are also tuned to the b12 suspension kit.

My point being that springs can't just be thrown on a suspension of our choice or shouldn't be anyways. You should match springs, shocks & struts together.

The BMW Performance Suspension Kit with M3 front sway bar is a nice setup but PRICEY 💰💰💰. I'd probably opt to get the M3 rear swaybar as well. Newton's 3rd law comes to mind if you left the stock rear sway bar there!!! That would put you at $1500-1600.00

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...SABEgKCNvD_BwE

You could get the B12 kit & Eibach swaybars for about $1100.00, and the B12 Kit is every bit as good if not better than the BMW PS kit. I will grant you that the M3 sway bars are better than the Eibach swaybars, but at $500.00 better !?

Only thing is, you will need a set of adjustable swaybar links when dropping your suspension an 1" or so!

Got it, thanks. Honestly not sure if I'd even opt for swaybars, at least not immediately. Would adjustable swaybar links be necessary if dropping less than an 1"? My e90 has the sport suspension, and from what I've read, the B12 kit only alters the drop by 1/2" or so from the sport suspension.

With adjustable sway bar links, you will get more life out of your links because the OEM links will be stressed from even a 1/2" drop. True not as much as a 1" drop, but the links are made for a specific length from the strut to the sway bar & now your adding a 1/2" to that length.

Also, the sway bar won't be in a relaxed position anymore, if you choose not to get adjustable links. Therefore, you won't get the most out of your suspension.

This is true! Don't know why I didn't think of it. Thanks again.

I personally love the whiteline adjustable links in the front. It's too bad they don't make ones for the rear. They are better than Hotchkiss IMO. I have had and installed both.

I'm guessing a good 1/2" in the front and same in the rear for adjustment on the endlinks would do or? Maybe leaving the back alone would suffice?

Nevermind! Answered myself. Just realized that the adjustment would be dependent on the amount of drop etc.

don't bother with sway bar links. Absolutely not needed for lowering of 1 inch. Search info on ride heights: base (non sport) vs sport vs performace (BMW yellow springs) Then search the sway bar links. All same part. I personally have BMWPS with Koni yellow. Ride is better (according to me) with Koni Orange which are probably very similar to the Bilsteins you inquire about.

Base (non sport) > sport 15mm lower than base > BMWPS 25mm lower than base = same sway bar links. Did BMW engineers miss something?

I'm working on a setup almost like that. So far I have Whiteline RSFB, ECS sway bars (although I only have the front bar installed rn) and Cusco front start bar.
Next will be M3 control arms, M3 front strut bar + braces and Bilstein B8s with H&R lowering springs.

Actually decided to go with Koni yellows and BMWPS (yellow springs). Konis ordered! Anyone got a good source for the springs? I've ran a few part numbers, which say they are the correct ones, just to find out later in the ordering process that they're not.
