If the N53 software happens to use the same program version (or at least the same boot sector) as the N54 software, then there's pretty much no extra work needed on our part. Otherwise we'd need to figure out where the branch instructions we need to modify are and then locate the powerclass byte, but that's not super difficult.
I spent some time on the disassembly, but with the infos in this thread I could not find the branches (also because my reverse engineering skills are not the best).
So are there any hints how to proceed or any pattern to look for?

I also attached my readout if you want to have a look (just rename it to .bin)...
Sw version is pretty old one, I also can update to the newest if it makes things easier...

I do have an extra MSD81, but thanks, I appreciate the offer. I also know how to read (and change) the ISN and the tricore passwords . I actually did upgrade that car from an MSD80 to an MSD81 while I was at it.

At the moment I don't own any hardware for accessing eeprom, but I was already thinking of buying some.

But at the moment I plan to wait until bbapp 2.0 releases, I already talked to trevorlee02 and there is a realistic chance that it will work on N53 also. It this is the case, I would go the other way; edit the powerclass byte in map section and use bbapp to flash.

How do you know which is the right file from 330i?
I only have SP daten from newer versions and of course also had the idea to compare 325i and 300i files. But how do I know which files are the right ones? Is the any secret or just experience from your side?

Been following the thread for a year or so... the procedure and the modified files for MSV80 still have not been posted, right?
I tried PMing but I think hassmachine is too busy working on the tuning tool at the moment to respond... does anyone else have the procedure and files?
I also tried emailing bimmergeeks but got no response.

Yeah, we've been working on this constantly behind the scenes. I put at least 20 hours a week into it (on top of my day job). We are all extremely busy but have still managed to accomplish a lot, even if its not obvious or visible.

I said it before - I am reading PMs, but i cant respond to everyone - I am focusning on building the tools I've wanted for myself for years, and I think others will like them too.

I didn't want to just post a bunch of links and have everyone confused - however, the peices are now pretty much in place. Files should be available for basic stuff by the end of the year. To be clear, these are based on stock settings and require WinkFP, but they will get you 90% of the way to what tuners like AA can offer.

We are taking a longer term approach here - I'm maybe not the best at explaining it, but what I've been planning is nothing like what you've seen tuning wise so far.

The initial files that we will release (soon, I promise!) are just the tip of the iceberg. We already have functional tools that literally nobody else has, but this is a complicated problem and things take time and effort..

BimmerGeeks can do the flash but I'm holding off on my 3IM install to see what BimmerLabs™ have been working on

I see BPC has a deal on their tune right now. I ordered the MILVS, have headers and the 3stage manifold. Just wondering what this cryptic release will be and if I should be waiting for that to save some money or go with BPC. I will probably do all these mods around the beginning of January.

I can tune for MILVS - that would be separate from what we are planning on releasing in the immediate future.

Actually, I'm hoping to install my own set by the end of the year.

ok, nice. I won't buy the bpc tune and wait to see what you have to offer. I believe you wrote you are in bellingham or something. I'm just across the border if you need to come down. Will take you for a meal too.

I wish I could help out in any way - I feel I (and many others) are so far behind in knowledge that any help we could give would just hinder progress.

Does any of you MSV70 ningas have any tables showing eccentric shaft sensor position vs accelerator pedal torque demand?

I have a hesitation issue which I believe is eccentric shaft sensor or eccentric shaft motor related. Either the sensor is misreading and the valve lift is not hitting the target value or the motor is slow to respond and there is a delay to reach target.

No oil in eccentric shaft sensor connector and no fault codes

Thanks

I thought INPA will display both the actual eccentric cam position and the commanded "sol" position?

Afraid I don't have INPA, only Carly App. What I want to know is if what I am reading on Carly is what it should be.

If you know where I can download a good version of INPA, I'm all ears.
