power steering pump replacement.

So my power steering pump decided to go picked up replacement. Installed it however after reinstalling the line going to/from the reservoir on top of the pump I noticed how easy the nipple swivels my buddy gave it a little pull and it popped right off! its held in place by a o-ring on the fitting itself and port on the pump his completely smooth. No threads too lock it in place, I tried to manipulate the filling on the old pump and with a lot more effort I was able to pull it free. should I reuse the old fitting on the new pump?
