Metal shavings in powersteering fluid & intermittent resistance steerings

Hi everyone on my 2009 328xi manual I ran into this issue about two days ago where i would have trouble turning the wheel mainly at low speeds. After further inspection i found that there were metal shavings in my fluid and the fluid was barley touching the indicator line. there is also a sound of the steering wheel like binding up when its hard to turn. Im not familiar with power steering systems and was wondering if anyone ran into the same problem as me and what worked for them. Thanks
