I ended up traveling wrong way down a deserted motorway doing wot with traction control off. With lsd, when lack of traction bites, it bites hard and fast. I'd say it's easier to catch in the bends because you aren't at wot then and you have something to correct against. Don't get complaisant ( mean that in a nice way) |

Hey all: posted a few questions a while back. Any help would be much appreciated!
I have the ppk and bmw performance exhaust on my 2010 e90 335. I believe the ppk is just a flash tune done by bmw, picked up the car used with it already. So what happens if I do a COBB flash, do I loose my ppk? If I reflash back to stock will it be the ppk tune or will I loose it all together and go back to full stock? Also, does the COBB kill the engine overrun exhaust gurgle that comes along with the ppk tune? Thanks! |

Anyone have any concerns running 21.5psi boost pressure (what I saw on my last log)? Was running Stage 1 Aggressive + FMIC, plenty happy with the power but I'm worried about the pressure. Can an eTuner set me up with a map for decent power but limit the boost to 14 or 15 psi to be on the safe side?

[QUOTE=cwarren;13936153]Thanks. Am I being paranoid? Think it's a mistake to go with a pro-tune to limit the boost pressures to 14 or so? Will I be giving up a bunch of HP?

Never tried it and I haven't heard about anyone testing it. Very interesting idea. Why don't you try it and report back? I'd do it myself but just filled up with my E85 / Shell VPower 93 mix that I love right now.

I am also using the stg1 Aggressive, but I use a bottle of Lucas Oil octane booster mixed with 91 octane for every fill up!My logs are as clean as yours but my 08 335i is only boosting at 15+ Psi,I think my car is chocking because it goes from an AFR of 15 to an AFR of 12 especially when it is a little warm out. Comparing a GIAC stg1 93 oct vs the Cobb stg1 Aggressive,You can see that the Cobb runs richer starting at spool up! On the long run,This translates to Carbon deposits in the combustion chamber,on the wide band o2 sensors and in the catalytic converters I really love my Cobb, however I need to be aware of the consequences of this particular tune coming from a smooth but yet strong GIAC stg1 with outstanding driveability! |

Yeah. Running 93 VPower. It's always run smooth, even running aggressive +FMIC. I've driving without a tune for the last few days and am considering just leaving it off. Just seems like a more refined car with plenty of power. So much for the $6k I sunk in Dinan goodies.

So, finally here are 2 logs I did over the weekend. I remember on one of them traction control was left ON however I do not remember which one. I am running stage 1 aggresive / 93 Octane.

You can already set the Gear 0 rev limit anywhere you want using ATR, and it works any time the clutch is in. The problem is that it uses the throttle to limit rpm instead of fuel cut, AND you get the funky timing behavior that it uses when it thinks you hit the rev limiter. Both of those things would have to be addressed in code to make it useable.

You have some timing corrections, but I've seen worse. It looks like the timing corrections started even before you started your pull in the second log. In the first log, the timing corrections happened at a different point than in the second log. I would say that it's probably fine because there are even some timing corrections on stock maps. You could try to lower timing slightly in ATR or see if there are no timing corrections using the stage 1 sport. The corrections could also be due to having a lower quality gas. The only major concern I'd have is those temperatures. If I were you, I'd get an FMIC as soon as I could. You'll have less and less power when you do back to back pulls with the stock unit. |

Hey buddy, question about your tuning. You have an E40 tune no meth correct? would you mind if I ask how much boost and timing you ran away with. (I'm tuning my new car so I just want data points from multiple cars)
