If it was missing files or not as expected though I'm sure the nav would have complained. Went on fine, version updated and looks all ok as far as I can see.
I had a similar job from 33% to 50%, but it reported as successful.

Hello to all.
I've downloaded all seven parts from the 1st post and succesfully decompressed to one file.I have copied the two of the three included files to the root of a 32GB flash disk and ready to update. Before I'm doing anything wrong I'd like to confirm that these files are the real EUROPE PREMIUM WEST 2018-2 and not the East ones.
I have red somewhere above that they are PREMIUM EAST and someone renamed it....or it has to do only with the torrent link?
My second question is:
Can I do the update while driving on road?
Thank you in advance!

It is West. I installed on Saturday. And yes you can update whilst driving.

I can also confirm this is West (after falling foul with other sources claiming to be and named as West actually being East).

Anyway thanks to the OP because those links were amazing, all 7 parts downloaded - average time for each part about 14 mins. Installed this morning and order restored on my Nav. Way better than trying to get via torrents with minimal seeders.

Just downloaded, didn’t ask me for a code it just began saving and updating to 2018-2 premium

Only things to make sure of is the usb stick (I used a 32gb) is formatted to fat32 and not ntfs otherwise the cic won’t be able to read

Also when unraring or unzipping to usb make sure it don’t crate a folder to put the files in on the usb that’s what caught me out
So when you click on the usb file on a pc it will show 1file and 1folder namely

Pkgdb Is the folder
Configure.nfm. Is the file

Thanks for the update undecided1

Thank you all for your confirmations...
I also have updated my system without problems and seems to be fine.
This map includes also the latest (last 10 months) road and junction changes in my area in Greece...
Perfect!!!!

Are you sure you're definitely currently on 2018-1, haven't previously started a 2018-2 update and really have only got 2018-2 files on the usb stick? Likely to be one of the above although can't do any harm to proceed and overwrite regardless, just wastes some time if you're somehow refreshing it with 2018-1 data. Check the map info file to be sure exactly what map you have downloaded.

Followed instructions to the letter and it's asking me for an activation code?

How come I'm the only one that seems to have this problem?

How big a USB stick is required? I see 32Gb being used by most but is the file size just 3.5Gb-ish? I need to order a stick hence the question.
Thanks

Hi, get a 32gb then you can use 1x USB version as well as 3x USB. 1x USB version is a bit too big for a 16gb stick, much bigger than 3.5gb

Also make sure it's fairly quick, takes long enough to copy the files over on a really quick stick (car will load at same speed but still need to get the files on the stick...) extract to HDD then copy over rather than extract direct to stick or will take much longer I've found. The 32gb metal usb3 Kingston stick is inexpensive, not shockingly slow and known working as I've used it for maps before.

Excellent, thanks for the quick reply! Bought the 64gb Kingston datatraveller so will have plenty of space
While I have you here, firstly thanks for posting these map updates, I've been keeping a watch from afar but thought I'd wait for this release to try. Just the one question, at the bottom of your first post, is that the code to enter in Idrive, also known as FSC?
Cheers

No it's the map code you use to generate fsc (enter in car code) for this particular map. You'll need your 1b file to generate for your car, luckily there's a script you can use to get it from the car vs the older more effort methods, then you need to chop some data off the front and end so 319 bytes. Search through my old posts for map threads, there were links to script plus thread with step by step guides for 1b etc. Take your time and invest a little effort and free map update codes for you. Of course we nearly didn't get a 2018-2 map so we'll see what happens in October when 2019-1 should be due...

Ok, its a little more involved than I thought then so i will need to look through the other posts before attempting it. I think I saw some step by step info under your 2018-1 thread.

I was just doing a bit of Googling and noticed a torrent for a 2019-1 Europe premium west! Is that possible at this stage?

If so, could be an even newer release?
