Foxwell NT510 vs NT520
Looking at the comparisons on line I still don't quite understand the differences, apart from the 520 being more expensive
Can someone explain? I would like to use it on a LCI 335D and a Skoda 2 litre diesel Yeti, (the VAG engine) |

Bought it from the Foxwell UK site - but not sure if that is just a front for the item being shipped from China - I think that it said "UK Warehouse" - whatever that means |

NT520 Pro arrived today - just a couple of days from the order
I bought it with the BMW vehicle specific software - this was NOT loaded onto the device It would appear that I need to download this from the Foxwell web site - onto the very small (micro SD) card that slots into the 520. It looks like it is only PC compatible, (I am a PC user) and also that I need to get a micro SD card reader. a little annoying I have sent them an email and will continue to update this thread, in the hope that it could help others |

No. Probably a mistake
Keep in mind you have to check for updates from Foxwell as they don't send out notices. Most updates are not especially important, but, good to check just in case there is a significant one. Also, many people are under the impression the tool can code a new battery. It can not (at least my NT510 can't). It will register a new battery.

the BMW specific software does NOT come loaded onto the Scanner, (the micro SD card) - Foxwell's instructions on what to do are not that clear as they do not say this.
It can get confusing as you have to switch between 2 of their sites to get the software onto the micro SD card which you can then put back into the Scanner My problem was worsened as I am a Mac user and the procedure will only work on a PC, plus I did not have a Micro SD card reader so I have to go out an buy one, (cheap - £3). I had to borrow a PC in the end as the Windows emulation program on my iMac, (I use Parallels), would not sync with the installation program, the micro SD card and the Foxwell web site to download the BMW software via the installation program - took me a few hours to get the job done. next step to go through what the Scanner does!!! Just started using the Foxwell and going through the functions and results - is there a dedicated thread on here, (I cannot find one with the search function), to discuss the use and results?

Foxwell NT520 & GT80 Next Generation
Hi New to this forum
I’m looking at getting the Foxwell Gt80 Next Generation as the prices are coming down My question is does the GT80 have all the functionality of the NT520 for BMW & Mini, things like Manufacturer Specific Codes, Adaptation reset, Coding Modules and Programming Keys etc or is the NT520 better Is the GT80 a jack of all trades but a master of none Regards Assad |
