Spacers - advice, recommendations, thoughts
Hi all,
I've been searching various posts for spacers but am getting confused hence starting a new post to help me understand. I've never fitted them to any car before but fancy giving them a go. I believe the main reasons for fitting them are looks rather than increased handling etc, i'm fine with that and keen to try. The widths are where I start to get confused...10, 12, 15mm...a mix front and back!? I'm not sure what I should be going for. I don't want a crazy stance but want something that'll look good, give the car a bit more presence and have it sitting better. Not sure if spacers are vehicle or wheel specific but wheels fitted are 313s, standard size rubber, this won't change. I don't want any rubbing nor do I want to roll the arches or cause any problems fitting them, this is a daily car at the end of the day (though odd trackday). For those that have spacers could you tell me what you have installed and how you are finding it. Those who have steered clear, any reason why? I've seen posts about spacers ruining the lining up of suspension, increased wear, safety but not sure what to believe. I appreciate that this is probably a simple and very old topic but its new to me! Thanks! |

Two suggestions:
1) Determine the look you want, then measure your car to select the correct thickness of spacer. See here: 2) For safety and peace of mind, only fit the hub-centric design.

Is Ebay the go to place to get good quality spacers for a reasonable price? I'm thinking the likes of eibach and H&R unless there are other brands which would also be good?

https://www.performancealloys.com/h-...l-spacers.aspx or you could try eBay, but I would go for known brands (e.g. Sparco) as cheap spacers have safety implications in my view: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARCO-WH...53.m1438.l2649

Use 12mm spacers on the rear with MV3 alloys.

Have heard of them. I think they produce locking wheelnuts too. At least the spacers are hub-centric...
