just throwing this out there for anyone that may be interested or know someone who would be. I am renting out my garage(the one we did walnut blasting in) for storage for the winter. looking at taking on 15-20 cars. asking $50/mo. located between monroe and flat rock (30 minutes south of detroit).

To chime in, I'm wondering what kind of car scene are you looking for? I know Woodward isn't for everyone..

Plenty of track in MI that are within 3 hr distance.

I used to live in the Clarkston area. Some of the best schools and a nice quiet area that is close to everything, but away from everything at the same time.

White lake is supposed to be nice these days. You can go further south and hit the Bloomfield area, but you are likely to pay a bit more for it.

I just moved out of Novi and to Chicago. I wouldn't recommend living in Novi if you have to commute to Pontiac. However, I will say that Novi has easy access to the major thruways. Buddy of mine commutes from an apartment in Walled Lake/Commerce to Auburn Hills and he has to drive through Pontiac. It's a little bit of a drive though.

West Bloomfield is nice but homes there are older, as are the ones in Farmington Hills. You want a posh(er) area, Birmingham, Royal Oak and Ferndale. Those cities/towns aren't that far from the GM Warren facility if you ever transfer

I don't know the east side as well (anything east of Van Dyke) but there's also Troy, Rochester Hills.

I also work for GM, but at the Warren Tech Center. Hopefully they aren't too much of sticklers up there, as I just got "ticketed/stickered" for not driving a GM car 2 days ago.

Anyhow, along with everyone else's suggestions, I would definitely look into Troy/Rochester Hills/Auburn Hills area.

It might've been a fluke honestly, because there are a lot of Non-GM cars here, especially around where I park towards the back with all the Mercs and Audis, but I was the only one with a sticker.

Before I got my 335, I was actually cross shopping the ATS and possible the 1g CTS-V.

But I definitely want to get a V8/RWD next for sure! If the e9x M3 is in my price range in about 4-5 years, I may end up with another BMW, but definitely would like to go back to GM.

I grew up in Bloomfield, moved to Royal Oak after graduation, then moved back to Bloomfield when I grew the family.

I did consider Rochester Hills. Great downtown, great parks/trails, etc... but if you live close to downtown, you'll be a bit more landlocked from the hotter spots of Birmingham, Royal Oak, Ferndale, etc...

Birmingham is a lot of money for the land you get. To get a decent sized lot, you'll be spending at least $700K to live east of downtown for the larger properties.

The really good school districts are Bloomfield, Birmingham and Rochester. Western most Troy is also nice, as you can get Bloomfield schools, close to Birmingham and nice sized lots (around Adams Rd, between Square Lake and Big Beaver).

Can anyone recommend a decent tire shop to mount/balance my 19" VMRs and transfer my TPMS?

Belle Tire wanted $220, Discount Tire wanted around $180. Those prices seem high to me, I could get them done in NJ for about $100.
