Removal and Cleaning of I-Drive Wheel

All of the sudden the I-drive wheel and the buttons do not function. I can still control from the steering wheel. Last night while scrolling through music, it just locked. Rebooted but no luck. Have looked at several videos, but not have seen a console like mine. Not sure how to remove the Telematics Interface Controller iDrive Controller. Also what should i use to clean the contacts / parts?

Looking forward to any help / advice.

If you open it to clean it you might even break it more. I did CIC retrofit and have controller that would like to get rid off.

Are they physically sticking and dirty? Or does it seem like a connector broke/popped off or a wire got nicked?

If it's the latter, search up how to pull the center trim piece and investigate underneath
