Why wont BMW replace this with CPO?!?

So I went to Bill Jacobs BMW (Naperville) to try to get my passenger side view mirror replaced but they wont do it! I have 55k miles on the odo but I have CPO! This is unbelievable, I thought without a doubt they would switch it out. Anyone else have this problem? Should I try a different dealership? Or should I not expect them to replace it? I attached a couple pictures (and also a cool iPhone pic I recently took )

lol I'm wondering the same thing! It seriously happened like over night. But the mirror had a yellow tint for the month before all the other crap came. I never thought of it to be a big deal but now..

Does it have the auto-dimming feature? Maybe something to do with that?!?

Also, I don't know if I have heated mirrors or not. I have the premium, sport, and cold weather packages. Can I just replace the mirror?

you can replace it for a regular mirror which would be cheaper than having a dimmer mirror replaced.

and it go like that because the mirror cracked internally and it releases all that stuff.

Have you checked with other dealers? Some are just finicky about things like that. Honestly, it looks disgusting. I had no idea that auto-dimming could do that.

us e46 m3 owners had this issue w/the oval rear view mirrors. it got so bad that some mirrors would ooze out the liquid and it would fall onto the center console trim and destroy the trim.

bmw did not replace it, but the manufacturer of the mirror had a $75 rebate. bmw SHOULD replace this. it is not wear and tear and it is a manufacturing defect. contact bmw n/a if anything. this is a safety hazard and is not safe to drive on the road!

That looks disgusting as hell... maybe from the close up photo...

I'd go to a different dealer... maybe the one on Ogden in Downers Grove. If I were you I'd call the SA all concerned about it and just play dumb. You went to the car in the morning and it was just like that. Never in your years have you seen something like it, and it must be a defective mirror. Manufacture Defect is the two golden words.

Yes, you have heated mirrors.

I can't believe your auto-dim fluid did this but even worse is the dealer not replacing it fo ryou.

That is obviously a manufacturing flaw of some sort - they should totally replace that as I can't see anyway you could cause that damage, unless they can see an impact or something!
