Cornering lights question/problem

I have a 2011 E92 335i and have a question about the cornering lights function.

Does it work for both right AND left turns? Because on mine it only works for right-hand turns. I am talking about both the xenon beams shifting right from straight position to the right (I think BMW calls this Adaptive Headlights) and that halogen light that comes on when you turn (Cornering Lights).

I am thinking the light should shift to the left as well, but maybe not because it might blind the oncoming traffic, and with right-hand turns you don't have that problem. Which would also explain why there is no error/malfunction lights on dash, "Vehicle Check OK".
