Impressed with the F30
Was lucky enough to get a fully loaded 328i sport loaner while my car was in the shop. Red interior, silver exterior.
All I can say is that I am pleasantly surprised. Due the mixed reviews on here, I was sceptical about the new model at first. However, you have to drive it in order to really experience what it is like behind one of these. I have the car for at least another day or two and have used a quarter tank already in a day. Awesome to cruise around town, the steering is light but precise and tightens up to our e90's at high speeds. Drop it in sport+ and you will never know that its an i-4, feels like a small V8 in there. Hit 140 without breaking a sweat. Interior is not bad, I like the red interior accented interior giving it definitely a more sportier look in the cabin. The car seems well thought out and everything just works. I also like how directions from your GPS also shows up under your instrument clusters. Exterior-wise, I am still not sure if I am used to it quite yet. It is not ugly by any means but just lacks kind of the smooth lines that our e90's encompass. Maybe after time I will start to appreciate it more. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but all in all, after being able to have first-hand experience with the car, it was not as bad as I thought. I will be more than happy to have a f30 335i sometime in the near future. Also, forgive me for another f30 post. I know that there are so many of these reviews on here but I just want to share my personal experience for future buyers

It looks good and pushes pretty solid power for the engine size, but I still can't get over the steering. Interior is a vast improvement, i'd like to give one a few more spins...

I love the F30. The E90's were a fantastic ride and the F30 does not disappoint.

I had the pleasure of driving an F30 328i while my car was in for service earlier this year and was very impressed with the interior. The fact that the cup holders are now in a "normal" location was a really nice feature. For the two and a half days I had the car, I enjoyed driving it a lot. The only thing that I found disappointing was the iDrive and the fact that it is not touch screen like other cars.

I like the iDrive being non touch screen because with a touch screen there are fingerprints and scratches everywhere.

I can tell you - accord kick the BMW a$$ with both of those things. The interior is OK. It feels cheaper, it has some stupid/unnecessary accents there. The sport seats are awesome. The rattling and squeeking sounds are ridiculous. The exterior is more modern than the e90, which does not mean nicer. IMO, the rear is nice, the front will need time to grow on me, regardless of the package.... |

The sport line or sport package F30 are the only F30 thats still drives somewhat like a BMW, the rest of the F30 drives like a Camry. As far as the I4 feeling like a V8, forget it It sounds like a Honda Civics and feel more like a V6 at best. The N55 feels more like a V8.

I would say the handling of a non-sport E90 is about the same as the Sport line F30. That being said, the non-sport F30 has a more comfortable ride. Steering wise, I like the F30's steering if I am driving at parking lot speed or parallel parking, once the car get up to city speed, the E90's steering feel much sportier.

I feel you guys who hate the steering. Personally, I would like the steering to be firmer as well. I don't really like the light steering either, however, it is precise.

I was thinking it would be hard for me to go from a fully loaded e90 to anything else not loaded. Ive heard F30's are also overpriced and for all the features we have on our e90s we would have to pay a fortune.

A fully loaded 328i will run about $55000, but it will have more features than a loaded E90.
