Time for new tires?
My wife's 328xiT was just in for service and they said that it is time for new tires. The stock Bridgestone Turanza tires have about 48,000 miles on them, but there is still quite a bit of tread above the wear bars.
What is a reasonable minimum tread depth considering winter is near? Continental or Bridgestone Run Flats?

If you live in New England, you might want to consider the Continental DWS, it has great thread wear as well as performance. It's not run flat tire so the ride is a lot more smooth and cheaper on pricing. Most of the members here switch to non-rft as soon as they are due for new tires.

You loose considerable amount of braking distance from anything less than 50 percent life left. Go to discount tire of a tire shop and have them measure them. I see your an awd get continental DWS and trust me you'll love that e90 more and more

If you're sticking with run flat tires, we have had better experience and feedback in winter conditions as well as ride quality and tread wear with the Continental Pro Contact SSR than we have on the Bridgestone Turanza EL 42 RFT tires.
