Stuttering engine problem

Well not sure if any one remembers me having fuel troubles. Due to what I thought was stuttering due to the crap fuel we have.
But yesterday I had 6 coil packs replaced and in the process of doing so the mechanic checked the plugs.

All 6 plugs were the wrong type for the E90. Too short by 1/4 inch. Effectively the ignition was happening inside the plug hole instead of the head.

Plus one of the coil packs was the wrong type.

This is what you get when you let the wrong people work on your car.

Since replacing 6 plugs and 6 packs the engine is smooth as. Not a stutter.
Big thanks to Anthony at BM Wise

It would have been well down on compression too.
Have to wonder about the guy I bought it from

Sweet jeebus. At least you found it was a problem with a simple fix.

the mechanic had a hard time getting the new plugs in due to excessive carbon on the threads.

But he did a great job immediately noticing they were the wrong plugs.
