Cousin's car stolen 2001 Acura Integra Type R
Whats up with these cars that they are stolen so frequently...My cousin just had his car stolen from his driveway behind a gate that wasn't locked during the wee hours in the morning in Bensonhurst Brooklyn yesterday....He woke up in the morning and the car was gone...He never parks it out front, but the one night he parked it up front, the car was stolen...They had to be watching and eyeing this car for a while...I had no idea that the 2001 Integra Type R is such a special car to the Japanese tuning hysteria. I mean there are so many cars on that block that are more expensive, I guess I just don't know the Japanese brands as much and the Type R brand....I feel bad for him because this car was going to his son this summer...His son has been salivating to get this car since he was 15 years old...He just turned 18 and this shit happens to him...I feel really bad for him and to the scums that took it, I hope they die of terminal cancer.
By now the car is probably stripped of the engine for sure, since from what I have read is what they are after... |

Wow... sorry to hear that Steven. And I'm sure your cousin doesn't have full coverage either, huh?
I hope that bastards who stole your cousin's car, rot in hell. Again, sorry to hear what happened.

I used to own a 2004 STI before I bought the 335xi. It got stolen out of Princeton Junction parking lot back when I commuted to work. STI's are stolen for the same reason Type Rs are. They are easy to steal, their parts fit on a their lesser siblings, and there is a huge market for the parts. Sorry to hear about the loss though. Type Rs are incredibly rare now a days for just this reason.

Yeah I know thats what they want is the damn motor...Its just sick how they have enough balls to steal a car out of a driveway that has a gate and the street is well lite...Just balls, but these guys were eyeing his car for a while and waited for an opportunity which was yesterday....Total loss because he just had liability

Sorry to hear it. I also had a Type R that was stolen. They stole it right out of my work parking lot in Boston during the day.
Of the 10 or so people I knew with Type R's, over half of us had one stolen. It is really a shame, because the cars were brilliant on the track. |

Don't worry, those guys will get what's coming to them. Karma always comes back around, especially when they find themselves getting railed in the a** by a brollick (yet sensitive) stranger in their prison shower who just stole their Type-R virginity...
Sorry to hear about your friends loss. The car is definitely gone, if you know any people in the Japanese tuning scene, I would just listen in and try to gather some info. Everyone always knows someone who knows something. The info is out there as to who stole it.

i feel your cousins pain, luckily my car wasnt stolen but last night somone broke into my car because i left my iPod charger inside th Ac outlet and they smashed my passenger side window and stole the charger, dvd player in my glove box, and sungalsses, all because they thought an iPod was in my car. Im just glad the car didnt get stolen itself or even worse vandalized beyond repair. And to think this all happened in a Mall garage parking lot, its my fault i park so far from other cars i guess.

Good thing I keep absolutely nothing in my car... People nowadays dont care about other people's property... they've got the "what's yours in mine" mentality

i might (pretty sure) of the saw this car driving around the city today around the verrazano narrows bridge around 9am this morning, near marine avenue. black integra, looked to be lowered, type r badge, gold rims i think they were rays, and what looked like bluechrome lugnuts, there were three guys inside, looked to be of hispanic descent, very glad i have photographic memory and i hope this is your cousins car, get out and start looking for it, i travel that way every day now and i'll keep my eyes out for it. again, i spotted it or an extremely similiar car to your description near the narrows bridge, hope this info helps to point you in the right direction to look.
what a heinous crime.
