for e92, open hood there's four torx/hex screw in black, unscrew them so u can pull it out a little bit to stick your hand behind the grills, then i think there's 3 on top, 1 on each side, 2 on bottom, black plastic tabs all u do is to push the piece holds them in to slide them out.... you'll know it when u see it!!!

For e90:

Unscrew torx bolts from the hood to remove top pieces. To take out the actual grill you just PULL....

There's a diy with pics in the...you guessed it...the "diy section". I think it was picus who did it, if I'm not mistaken.

2 things....you will end up pulling harder then you originally thought, and WEAR GLOVES. There are posts from several members (including me) talking about cutting their hands.

I just swapped out the kidneys on my car yesterday, and it was really simple. After removing the few torx screws on top of the bumper just squeeze the middle of the tabs on the inside and pull the grille forward and it will pop out.

I would be very interested to see that. Congrats on the grill switch...did you change them to matte black? I tell ya...it was the easiest and least expensive cosmetic mod I did that I got the most out of appearance wise. I went matte black on a black saph...and I even sold my oem grills for ~75 bucks.

Ahh...got it. Have you looked to see if anyone sells a scoop? I thought I read somewhere on here that there was one available. If there is I doubt it sells for $0.78!
