Another tip - a set of needle nose pliers helped grip and twist both the old and new bulbs. I also filed off the plastic peg in the driver side headlight - there's nothing electrical tied to it, so it was a casualty of the light war...

Great instructions. Did mine today in about 30 minutes, not counting removing the headlights.

Got my LUX H8 180's installed. Took about 30 minutes. Bumping this guide up, as it's golden for anyone with an N55 E90 335i. If you have fat hands, you might ask a friend who doesn't to help.
