Installation prices vary wildly by shop... I'd call around for an estimate. Highly recommend using a shop that's done the job many times before on our cars- they will take less time which usually means less $.

In that pic I see:

1) Front M3 arms
2) Rear M3 arms
3) Front M3 strut brace kit
4) front and rear M3 sway bar kits

In this case, I had recommended only 1 and 2 above. The rest frankly can come later - springs and shocks would be what I'd do for step 3. Again, my personal recommendation only.

Hey Ash do you have M3 rear camber arms or think it's worth it at all? (Not in the pic)

If you are referring to the lower camber links (the Aluminum ones that replace the steel doodads on our cars), yes I do have them. Do I think they make a big difference? Not really. It's more about eliminating the rubber lower mount that the non-M rear shocks use, but Turner sells an adapter that allows you to convert to an M-style rear shock without swapping out the whole arm. IMO the weight penalty isn't going to make a huge difference on a street car and you save a bit of coin (and installation time).

I bought the M3 arms as part of a suspension package so I just went with it.

Now, if you are talking about both the upper arms and the toe arm - yes those make a huge difference because the bushings are different. I personally went with all Megan (Hardrace) adjustable upper arms as the price wasn't all that higher over M3 non-adjustables and I knew this way my shop could align to my exact specs without compromise.

Post 335is Mods and Downpipes

Hello everyone, I have had my car about a year now and just upgraded to the 7 inch FMIC and Down-pipes with a Cobb Sate 2+. So far very happy with the performance. The nice turbo spooling sound was a nice plus.

I know this has been discussed before but wanted to get some fresh opinions. I was really hoping it would not make the car to obnoxiously loud as I wanted to retain the most awesome OEM exhaust the 'is' has. It does rasp quite a bit more then I want when holding RPM's the mid 4K range. WOT it just downright screams!

I had read some post on the PE exhaust and some members had put vibrant resonators in. But did not read any one the 'is' exhaust.

I did visit a muffler shop in Miami (Miami Muffler) hoping they would be able to add some suggestions. I still have my mid-cats on and all I did exhaust wise is change the OEM Down-pipes to the VRSF 7 inch Down-pipes. I just wish I could silence the rasp and quiet it down just a little. They really had no solid suggestions.

What have you guys with Down-pipes done? Just get used to it and deal with it? Or switch mid-cats for resonators? Or anything else?

Thanks for all reply's as I want to see what others have done and any other options I might have?

Go with a pair of Vibrant 1792 resonators, it will solve your rasp issues along with keeping the sexy IS exhaust note.

Thanks that's exactly the post I read. But for the 'is' exhaust do you add the vibrant resonators or cut the mid-cats out and put the resonators in their place? Not much room to add the resonators with the cats in. What have all the 'is' owners done.

Thanks

You basically have the same setup as me. What the Freaks will do is give you the same power if not a little more but with using less boost. Much safer for your car. Something like that anyway. I'm not a tuning expert. All I know is the car felt much much better after they tuned it.

The only glaring weakness is the stock suspension. But other than that the car feels very dialed in.
second that. If Vancouver had a proper track I might be asking the same questions as many here, but for public roads I think the car is just fine.

This is probably a really stupid question.. but I have followed along through your guys' conversation and I have to say I never felt that the suspension was bad, especially compared to my previous car, a 335d. So I ran my VIN and under optional equipment it says I have M Sports suspension.. is that equivalent of the BMW performance suspension or is that just what all of the BMW 335is's have onboard?

Thanks and excuse my ignorance.

Not a stupid question at all. The performance suspensions are characterized by the yellow springs so you can easily tell if a car has one installed. And they actually lower the car a tad in the process...
