Anyone know what this leaking part is?

I was doing an oil change and whilst i was underneath i noticed all this oil but not sure where its came from and what part that even is. E92 325i n52n

I'd guess at crankshaft main rear seal. The oil is leaking from the mating surfaces between the engine and gearbox, plus maybe the sump gasket, though that could be blow-back...

Many guesses can be made. However unless you are physically looking at the car it makes the guessing game extra challenging. The best advice for leaks is to take your car down to the local spray and pray car wash throw a can or two of engine cleaner under the ol bonnet and clean things up.

Oil and other liquids have a nasty habit of starting at one spot and ending up at a completely unrelated other spot. It also gives you the ability to see is this a big leak or so slow that the years of build up fool you into thinking it's worse than it actually is.
